Red Ribbon Week

Red Ribbon Week: October 26th – October 30th

We are kicking off Red Ribbon Week on Monday, October 26th.

What is it? Red Ribbon Week is the nation’s oldest and largest drug prevention awareness program. It started in 1985 after the death of Drug Enforcement Administration Agent Enrique “Kiki” Camarena, when people started wearing red ribbons to honor his sacrifice and commitment to end the destruction caused by drugs in America.

What can we do?  Take some time this week to:

  • Talk to you your kiddos and raise awareness
  • On Thursday, October 29th, “Wear RED to be AWARE”
    • Kiddos can wear a red shirt to a school
  • On Friday, October 30th, “Hocus Pocus, Drugs Aren’t our Focus”
    • Kiddos can wear Halloween-themed shirt or outfit (*no costumes*)

For more information on Red Ribbon Week, here is their website: https://www.redribbon.org.

Thank you for your time and support. Don’t hesitate to text or email pictures of your kiddos during Red Ribbon Week to Carlee, Yearbook Chair, at [email protected].
